Our Story
Alex and Ellie was founded in 2019 by Chrystal Meadows. Chrystal has always been a collector of designer brands, and during the COVID-19 pandemic, she looked into her closet overflowing with Coach and realized she had the opportunity to share her passion and style with others. She began selling pieces of her personal collection on Mercari and Poshmark and has since built up a booming e-commerce network with over 30,000 trusted followers.
Our Shop
In 2020, Chrystal opened a storefront in the heart of downtown Columbia and now operates both online and in-person shopping. The store is open every first Friday, during all major downtown festivities, and by private bookings. Alex & Ellie also offers personalized shopping experiences for groups. Chrystal's mission is to provide affordable designer threads for every household and to provide a unique, customizable experience for everyone.
Our Craft
With years of experience curating her own handbags and now years selling designer threads, Chrystal has a natural collector's eye. She closely examines every product to ensure 100% authenticity before it is sold. Additionally, each item is thoroughly inspected for wear and tear, and all resale items are steamed and sanitized before arriving at their new home. She also collaborates with other local artisans to provide unique products in addition to her resale items. Every item is selected with hopes to deliver accessible, affordable designer products to every household.
